    Early April Fools, perhaps?

Obviously an april fools joke. If not, it looks like a safer alternative to binge drinking.

A mix of real and April Fools. Hard to tell which is which. And btw, the articles on the suspension of student voting because of computer glitches is real. I'm not so sure though about this: http://badgerherald.com/oped/2006/03/31/student_government_l.php. Triple major???

Also see the articles in the Daily Cardinal:

What's strange about that, tsdad? Triple majors are very possible, particularly in related fields and easier majors (anything in humanities.)

As many of you know, my "day job" is helping run the Internet. I just got this off the network operators list, and wanted to make sure you all are aware of it. Yes, this also means that I'll be busy this weekend, which is why I've not scheduled any shoots or anything. At least I get all the pizza I can eat.

    *** Attention ***

It's that time again! As many of you know, each year the Internet must be shut down for 24 hours in a few major metropolitan areas in order to allow us to clean it. The cleaning process, which eliminates dead email and inactive ftp and web sites, allows for a better-working and faster Internet.

This year, the following areas will be cleaned: Memphis TN, Seattle WA, Santa Monica CA, and Houston TX

The cleaning process will take place from 23:59 pm (GMT) on March 31st until 00:01 am (GMT) on April 2nd. During that 24-hour period, five powerful Internet-crawling robots situated around the world will search the Internet and delete any data that they find.

In order to protect your valuable data from deletion we ask that you do the following:

    * 1. Disconnect all terminals and local area networks from their Internet connections.
    * 2. Shut down all Internet servers, or disconnect them from the Internet.
    * 3. Disconnect all disks and hard drives from any connections to the Internet.
    * 4. Refrain from connecting any computer to the Internet in any way.

We understand the inconvenience that this may cause some Internet users, and we apologize. However, we are certain that any inconveniences will be more than made up for by the increased speed and efficiency of the Internet, once it has been cleared of electronic flotsam and jetsam.

We thank you for your cooperation.

Network Operators: Since the last Internet cleaning, the number of Internet users has grown dramatically. Please assist us in alerting the public of the upcoming Internet cleaning by posting this message where your users will be able to read it.

Try this link for the April Fools jokes at UW- Madison. As I said in another post, I first found the one where they put out a cup of beer for a missing roommate kinda clever, but in light of all the recent drinking tragedies, it isn't so funny... http://www.dailycardinal.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogsection&id=20&Itemid=57
here's a link to the "lost roommate" article http://www.dailycardinal.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=400&Itemid=57
opinions-- funny-- yes? no? Tasteless? Bad timing? All of the above?
