    I have everything picked out for the remodel.

    My only worry about the slate color is that if it doesn't continue to sell well it could die out like bisque did. Everyone I spoke with said it's really grown over the last 2 years, so I'm crossing my fingers. Otherwise I may have to replace all the appliances if one breaks in the future - LOL.

    That burner layout is like my GE profile range inherited from the previous owner 8-10 years old by now??

    dunno, don't think that matters. however I love this burner layout. It's much better than my old one. the two on the left combine to make one big burner which is perfect as I have oval pots.

    Fender, I have a similar unit less than a year old. So far, I like it but finally bought a couple of inexpensive oven thermometers. My oven does get to temperature but not as quickly as the unit indicates it is to temp. Also, I found each burner heats a little differently. Not sure if it mine alone but I have adjusted and haven't burned anything lately! Love the bridge between the two burner!

    My stove is also an older model of your new one, and I' like it a lot. per whitepicketfence, when I first got it, I had trouble with the oven heating properly. I had someone come out right away; he measured the temp, and made an adjustment, and told me to make sure I give it long enough. No trouble since. Enjoy!

    i used it tonight at 400 and everything got done at the exact time i expected it to, so it seems to be correct. I was amazed how HOT the oven was. I don't think my old oven has been that hot in years, and I have been cooking everything in that thing at "500"!!! my chicken got done in 20 minutes, my potatoes in 30. My old oven cooked those in 60-70 minutes, at 500!!! It was a joyous evening!!

    i'm looking forward to making something with the convection settings. haven't decided what yet, though!

    My GE booklet comes with directions on tweaking the oven's thermostat if it seems to run too hot or cold.

    Was in Sears browsing the other day and found out the wattage per burner can be found in the online product specs. In the old days Consumer Reports would list this and you could tell the best stoves had more heating coils per burner, now they're hidden by the glass surface.
