Relief! All decisions in - my son was 10 for 12.

Today we heard from Yale and Brown (didn't want him), and JHU, Chicago, and Harvard (accepted)!

He's at Emory Scholars weekend enjoying Atlanta in the thunderstorms, but I will call him tonight with the news. I am going to have a glass of wine now (maybe two glasses - or perhaps I should drive up to Swarthmore, hmmmmm?) and try to breathe out all the accumulated tension and anticipation of the past few months. Tomorrow I will pour a libation to Athena and pray that she enlightens him sufficiently to make 'The Really Big Decision.'

Champagne, caviar, and cigars (ok, chocolate cigars) to all! I have sincerely appreciated all the parents on CC over the past three years, couldn't have assisted him 1/2 as much without all of you! Deepest thanks for your collective wisdom!

Congratulations to you and your son. He has some wonderful choices. I'm sure he'll do well wherever he chooses.

Better skip those cigars--chocolate and champagne aren't really compatible. ;-)

WOW, Yulsie, I had no idea of your son's list but he DONE GOOD...REAL good! Wow wow wow! ya know, Alumother should see this thread because I just read hers and your son is an example of what I meant about the Ivy league schools. If you are of that level of qualification, often you get into one, not the other but are a contender but then the crapshoot odds come into play. I mean Harvard but not Brown, ya see? Well, he has quite the list there of acceptances. Would love to know what he decides. Or should we assume Harvard? What a phone call YOU are gonna have. Would love to hear the excitement on the other end.

Enjoy and relish in the moment.

    Their loss.

With acceptances at 6 other schools. I think some shoes are being worn out with all of the happy dancing going on in your house.

Congrats to all on the wonderful acceptances he has received. Savor the moment, hey go for broke, have some ice cream along with your cognac, chocolate, Champagne and caviar. So what if it does not mix? you deserve a day in bed and a nap before and gather your energy for the big party when your son comes home.

how does that work? harvard but not yale? and given this list of acceptances, is there any way he doesn't go to harvard? was there a legacy or any extra whatever for harvard? learning the meaning of crapshoot. only wish i head learned it before all this...

using all lowercase from humility and from feeling like a teenager again...

    and oh yes, many congrats.
