edited November 2006 in Penn State
I am a white male New Jersey resident and I am interested in Penn St. I plan on majoring in business, specifically finance/accounting.

My EC's are:
FBLA 11, 12 (webmaster)
DECA 12

- I have been a basketball referee since 9th grade and have refereed many games each year. (I have an essay written on this topic but would need to scal it down from about 3100 characters to 200 characters)
- I was also a camp counselor the past 2 summers.

My GPA is a 3.71 (An A is a 4.3, not 4.0)
My rank is 99/445 (Top 25%)

My SAT scores are:
Math- 660 Reading- 450 Writing- 610
1110/1600
1720/2400

What would you say my chances are?

    It's all right.

Apply as soon as possible for a better chance.

i would say its a slight reach..... admissions this year are tough because we accepted to many freshman last year.... my school (manalapan,nj) had the same gpa scale and you needed around a 3.8 and 1200 to get into university park.

I'd say December at the earliest.

Please advise on my son's chances. He applied late AUgust and we are waiting.

11th percentile in class of 185.
    SAT 1260 / 2010
    Mostly honors and AP courses.
    5/5 on AP History
    4.0 GPA
    Satisfactory extracurrs.

On advice of admissions officer he applied DUS instead of business to enhance his chances, as PSU is first choice due to NROTC program and we did not want to risk getting declined from mroe competitive business school.

    Thanks in advance for replies.

He's got a good shot since he applied early.

Per the prior post on my son (1260/2010), I spoke with Admissions yesterday and it was suggested that letters would be going out mid-November. The rep also implied strongly that he would get in, without expressly saying so.

So check those mailboxes starting around 11/13. Based on other threads, this seems to be slighly later than prior years.
