Prep School Chances

So I'm applying to Hotchkiss, St Paul, Exeter, Andover and I'm an 8th Grader

- 87% SSAT but I'm retesting in January
- my school doesn't do grades but I got A's
- good teacher recs
- secretary general of model un middle school
- been to 9 mun conferences
- went to phillips exeter summer school
- got into cty john hopkins
- community service every week (teaching local chinese kids)
- went to a village in china for a month to learn about chinese culture and to help
- raised funds for the WILL foundation by organizing a triathlon
- tennis since 1st grade
- badminton since 3rd grade
- hockey since 7th grade
- can speak three languages
- participated in world scholars cup and qualified for dubai round
- participated in cisco debate
- need financial aid
- international student (not in america)

what are my chances? i'm asian but my ssat isn't really good so i'm really worried

    so am I! probably since you have a nice athletic background but if you need FA it makes it a lot harder to get in. Exeter might take you but andover has a 94th percentile cutoff i believe (even if they dont say so, it's true). Good luck to you, but with that ssat score i might bring you down a little.

    There is NO cutoff whatsoever. The 94th percentile is just the AVERAGE. Some will have scores lower than 94th percentile, some will have scores higher than the 94th percentile. Having a score lower than the 94th percentile will NOT "make or break your chances."

    @shantacorn The original post was also made on 12/24/2014 and OP said that he would retake in January, so his/her scores may have also changed.
