So you would be applying to try and get in as a sophomore? This can often significantly decrease some bodies chances of being accepted to a school because at many schools they accept few sophomores.

Also, do you really want to attend boarding school or is Mercersberg the only boarding school you want to go to? I ask this because there are never any guarantees that you will get into a school no matter how qualified you may be so if you truly have your heart set on attending a baofding school, you should cast a wider net and apply to 5-9 schools of different rigor and acceptance dates to increase your chances of being able to go to boarding school. If you need financial aid, this is also all the more reason to apply to more schools. If you have any questions at all feel free to pm me. Good luck!!

If you work hard and bring up your grades a bit next year and if you do well on the SSAT, you will have a chance. No one here can tell you whether you will get in, but it's certainly worth a try! Mercersburg is a great school. cababe97 is right that if your goal is boarding school in general, you should learn about other schools and apply to more than one. But if you just want to go to Mercersburg, do your best and give it a shot. Good luck to you!
