Princeton Engineering Essay - Length?

How long can/should it be? Mine's getting to be rather long because I'm describing my engineering experiences in detail to demonstrate that I am passionate and scientific.

    It doesn't really matter too much, but stay under the character limit of 4000 because past that is too long to expect an admissions officer to read when they have hundreds of applications.
