Just curious, since Princeton offers interview for applicants, did anyone receive an interview yet for the REA round? Thx!

Did anyone receive one for Early Action? I sent my application early October...but I have not gotten contact yet.

Good day to all of you!

Personally, I am also waiting for any information/contact regarding the interview. I think that should happen by the end of next week, otherwise the time frame between the interview and admission decisions date will become too narrow.

But as I have read, two people have already posted on CC about their interview requests. You can read more here (although the two do not provide very much information about their interview requests):

All the best to you and I'll let you know as soon as I receive any interview contact information!

That's odd. I've applied for Princeton RD and I received an email for the arrangement of my interview today. It would make sense if most of REA applicants receive interview for priority. Btw, I live in Victoria, BC, Canada. Perhaps there isn't any available alumni in your area.

Yeah...It's a little odd. I have received interview offers from almost all of my Regular Admission schools, so I am a little worried.

I applied SCEA to Princeton on November 3rd or so (thanks a lot, Sandy). I got the email about my interview on the 14th and had it last night, the 16th. So overall, the turnaround was quite good on their part, but maybe that's just because of how close the interviewer lived to me. As for the actual interview (if you care), I couldn't have been more pleased. The man was very friendly and the tone was quite conversational. He gave me a chance to explain any poor grades or whatnot and did, I think, an excellent job of both getting to know me and answering my questions. I can't say if it'll be the same for everyone, but if you're nervous about it, just know that if mine could go well, yours could only go better. Cheers, all.

@BeoX22, can you share some interview topics? Did your interviewer read your essays and resume and discuss them in the interview?

I have just received my email notification for an interview today! I live in Georgia and my interview will be on December 1, 2012, also the day that I will take more SAT II Subject Tests.

Well, I'll try to remember the order of things for you, but I can imagine it would be different depending on the interviewer. First he asked the standard "so, why are you interested in Princeton?" question, which I'm sure you guys already figured. That turned to what my intended major would be, which was psychology. Luckily, it was his as well while he was at Princeton, so that led us to a discussion of his thesis. That was a nice segway into his next topic, which was any sort of adversities I've overcome (it was a segway because of mental illness in my family). We discussed that for a while, and then he asked me the so-called "question of the year" from Princeton, which was the classic "who is your hero and why?" So there was that. He also gave me the opportunity to explain any bad grades or scores I've received, which was nice. He asked for any leadership positions I've played in my community, my extracurricular activities, etc. Overall, it was what you would expect, but he was very conversational and I found myself actually enjoying the discussion rather than just praying for it to end. I was a bit disappointed when he noticed that we had gone over time. I know it's likely impossible for you guys to do, but don't stress about it. It was a very pleasant experience.

Just realized I hadn't answered your question, sorry. No, he had not read any of my essays or seen any part of my application. I mentioned my essay topic in passing, but we didn't dwell on it, nor did I wish we had.

Actually, I just received my interview request today. My interviewer wrote me a nice, long e-mail about his profession and the field he majored in. I thought I would be anticipating the interview with fear, but now I am actually just excited to hear more about his work and story of life.

He also mentioned in the e-mail that Princeton requires interviews to be completed by November 30th, so I assume you should definitely receive an interview request at latest by the end of next week!

Hey guys I'm a bit concerned- I applied Early Action, and have not received any email about an interview. I also did not receive an email about Princeton receiving my SAT scores (though I saw it online so it was ok). Should I wait longer or contact Princeton? Thanks!

I know it's hard, but I would just wait it out a bit longer. I didn't receive an email about my scores arriving either, but their handy dandy application tracker confirmed it. Just hand in there, they'll get to you.

My son just got an email late last night (Sunday) which said that we would be hearing from the interviewer before the end of Nov., and gave his name, but no contact yet; so I assume you should all hear within the next week to schedule the interview since time is running out before the end of the month and figuring in the Thanksgiving break too..... Good Luck!!

Thanks @BeoX22 :) I live two hours away from Princeton... so it's not like I live very far haha

Ha, yeah, I'm less than an hour and a quarter away. Plus, my interviewer lives in my town, which is incredibly convenient. He's actual the doctor of the sports teams at my high school... probably works in my favor :P Good luck to all.
