Princeton Graded Assignment

AnxietyBoyAnxietyBoy 4 replies6 threads New Member
Princeton requires the submission of a graded paper as part of the application. The Common App only accepts PDF or Word documents, so I’ve been trying to upload the 3 pictures of the 3 pages of the assignment as a Word doc, but it’s 3.9MB in size and exceeds the 2000KB limit. I’m thinking of typing out the assignment again and sending it as a text file, but I’d have to type out the grade and the teacher’s comments as well, which I don’t think is advisable. Does anyone know if the 2000KB limit applies to uploading the paper directly to the Princeton applicant portal as well? Any other suggestions are welcome too.

Can you scan the pages and save them as pdf? You can download “genius scan” and save any images as pdf files. They are much smaller in size than word docs.

Last year, my son re-typed the graded paper and his teacher's comments and submitted both as one pdf document.

Don't use the Common App. We had the same problem so I called Princeton admissions. They said to either email it or upload it through the student portal page once that is set up. My S did just that and the portal page easily accommodated his lengthy graded paper. Princeton had his portal page info emailed to him within 24 hours. Why they can't get the Common App to do this remains a mystery.
