  • Another Philadelphian here. I don't know the hotels, but I do know the neighborhoods (and restaurants) well. The Days Inn is in Chinatown, which has great dining options, but is less upscale than the neighborhoods surrounding the other two hotels. …
  • I have wide feet (C width) and love Rothy's. In my experience, "The Flat" sized up a half size works best, and I own several pair. I had to go up a full size for "The Point," which was okay, but not ideal. I also love the loafers (also a half siz…

  • I love having packing cubes for week-plus length trips, especially when we're changing locations several times. It makes it so much easier to stay organized, and the repacking is also easier
  • What about a slingback? Like these: (though I'm not sure about the brand): https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/j-renee-jenvey-slingback-sandal-women/4487780?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home/Women/Shoes/Sandals&color=black fabric

  • Have you tried Ecco? I'm wearing these right now: https://www.6pm.com/p/ecco-fara-slip-on-black-black-1/product/8601389/color/234186 and they're super comfortable.
  • I own the Walking Cradles sandals in the first post in black, having bought them in a rush after knee surgery for a summer wedding. They are comfortable, but the quality is not great, and, although I haven't worn them a lot, the straps are showing …

  • Replying to Bookworm. Coincidentally, I have been looking for a comfortable pair of booties. My Cole Haan Harrington's arrived yesterday, and they're great. And on sale! https://www.colehaan.com/harrington-grand-slouch-bootie-35mm-black/1920041117…
  • I'm another who wears Rothy's daily. Sadly, with my C-width foot, the pointed toe models don't work, but the regular flat is perfect (I size up a half size). Also love my new pair of Rothy's loafers. If anyone wants a discount link, send me a PM, …
  • I'm surprised that no one has recommended Rapidbrow and Rapidlash, which have worked wonders on my formerly sparse eyebrows and lashes. It's a clear liquid that you paint on in a few seconds at bedtime. Not cheap, but each tube lasts forever.
  • A few more pointers: make sure to carry lots of small bills for tipping. Several different people may be wheeling you through the airport, and each one should receive a tip. And if you will need ice, bring ziploc bags that can be filled on board.
  • If you're willing to forgo socks, try Rothys. I have always had a difficult time finding truly comfortable flats, especially in the summer when I don't want to wear socks, and I have fallen in love with that brand. I bought one pair to try, and no…
  • I am a big fan of the Royal Robbins Discovery Skort, which I originally purchased in a khaki color a few years ago for travel. It's also become a go-to at home when the weather gets hot and sticky. https://www.royalrobbins.com/women/skirts-dresses …
  • I was looking at a different cardigan at Macy's which comes in brown http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/august-silk-crew-neck-cardigan?ID=364044&CategoryID=260#fn=sp=1&spc=32&ruleId=79|BS%26slotId%3D4%26kws%3Daugust%20silk but was also u…
  • Just want to speak up in support of Duavee, which another poster disliked. I've been on it--very happily--for over a year and a half. One pill a day, and the hot flashes that had been plaguing me day and night are almost entirely gone.
  • My son, who hates to shop and has very wide feet, recently needed a few pair of dress shoes, I ordered many different brands and styles from various on-line sources such as zappos, 6pm.com, and onlineshoes.com for him to try. The winners in this co…
  • Are you a Costco member? When I bought a new car recently, I got the best price by going through Costco (and once I had that price, a better-located dealer matched it, even though that dealer isn't part of the Costco program).
  • I am prone to seasickness and have taken many cruises over the years. In my experience Bonine (meclazine) is superior to any other remedy. When you do your research, focus on your cruise line and ship. Much of what you need to know is ship-specif…
  • Have you tried using a search tool such as Shopstyle? I played with it just now with your parameters in mind and noticed this dress on sale at Saks in a 16: http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main/ProductDetail.jsp?PRODUCT<>prd_id=84552444695064…
  • Apparently the Clinique Lash Power that I recommended is a tubing mascara (and not expensive). Here's an article with a long list of options: https://lauratipt.****/tag/complete-list-of-tube-mascaras/ The author of that article likes an Estee Laud…
