  • Re: NYU Shanghai announces surprisingly generous Financial Aid

This link does not go to a video about NYU Shanghai. A video about NYU Shanghai admissions exists but it does not discuss financial aid. If anyone finds any information about financial aid, please share it. Right now, the NYU website states that tuition will be about $15,000 for Chinese students and there will be generous financial aid for students from mainland China only. All others will pay the same tuition and get the same financial aid as for NYU USA ie. very high tuition, very poor financial aid.
  • Re: NSLI-Y Program.

Wow! You are so lucky to hear so soon. I wonder if you both are from the same region. My kids will be eager to know whether they are in the running, too. I'm guessing that you are not from the midwest.
  • Re: NSLI-Y Program.

My 9th grade son just submitted his app for Arabic, Chinese or "any" summer. 11th grade daughter will apply for Chinese, Korean or "any" summer. Wish she could apply for a year since she'll be too old next year but she just returned from spending a year in S. America with Rotary so she can't take off another year before college.
  • Re: NSLI-Y Program.

The application for Summer 2011 and 2011-12 semester and year programs will be posted late this summer/fall. Students list language preferences. They have no choice of locations. It is hard to say what the admission criteria is but there is no application fee, so go for it!
  • Re: NSLI-Y Program.

No, the current application cycle that began last fall and ended at the end of April was for summer 2010, fall 2010, spring 2011 and full year 2010-11 programs. The next application cycle will probably begin sometime in the fall.
