  • Re: Say it here cause you can't say it directly- the get it off your chest thread

So lady in the row who wouldn’t move when they asked you to: 3 bottles of wine is a lot for any flight, but a 9:30 am flight?? Whoa. And no, my DH didn’t want to hear you praddle on ad nauseam about some old beau who you reconnected with after 28 years. And why he helped you connect to gogo inflight is beyond me- since you then spent much of the flight yakking loudly on your phone. And when the flight attendant told you what wasn’t allowed, you stopped... for a second. And then started right up again. THe ones who could have used the wine were your seat mates! I’d have preferred someone’s fake service or ESA pet to you any day. Oh, and flight attendant, fortunately the box of food you dropped on my broken ankle didnt hurt.

But we are here with he kids and the grand baby. All is right with the world.

Delta airlines: when my bag is tagged priority, that doesn’t mean to stick it on a different flight that arrives 2 hours before we do. If it’s missing, we will not be happy. And lady in our row who is in the aisle and slowly dumping stuff in all the seats, saying you don’t pack light, when they ask you to step into the row and out of the aisle as you are causing a huge backlog line, the correct response is not “no”.
  • Re: Should I leave Rice?

As an aside, my. older s (a mechE Rice grad) works for a big firm in SV. When he first interviewed for the job, he went through many, many interviews (9). The final interview was with one of the senior staff who has an advanced degree in another field ( I would rather not be too disclosing for reasons of privacy). But, that final, 9th interviewer was... a mechE Rice grad too.

Your adjustment issues may well be a general college adjustment, not specific to Rice. Please see a counselor before making a decision.

Rice is well known and highly respected among people in many, many fields. Just because , oh, for example, Tennessee may have a more known “name” does not make it a better choice!

Did you really say that and think anyone would buy that line of ........ crud. What a sick line if thinking.
  • Re: Tulane University

To add to what the admissions person shared last year the message tat came through was that IF the Altman program wants to accept a student who hadn’t yet been admitted to Tulane, the admissions dept will review the students application and unless there is some glaring blemish on their application, they will be admitted.
