I am trying to decide between humanities and social sciences. Is one easier to get into than the other?

Nope. Pick the one you feel strongest about. If you change your mind after a semester or two, it's no big deal to switch -- you don't even officially declare a major until the end of your 3rd semester.

I agree. Also, know that you will be assigned an advisor based on what you put. So if you put humanities, you will have a humanities prof as your advisor. It's no big deal to switch, but that's the major impact of the choice you make.
