Is it ideal to study 12 to 14 hours a day?

Would you recommend doing this for classes at Rutgers? The 12 to 14 hours could cover your whole course load.

They say that your workload out of a class should equal two to four times the amount of credits you are taking. If you're taking 16 credits, you should be working thirty-two to sixty-four hours outside of class for all your classes. Forty-eight hours is ideal, so you should study six or seven hours a day.

If you study 12 to 14 hours a day, you're just going to burn yourself out.

it wasn't very necessary for me to study 12 - 14 hours a day with a 16 credit courseload. the only time where i studied that much was during finals week. and that was pretty exhausting. please don't study that much per day. academics and good grades are important, but so is having some sort of social life.

12-14 hours seems like a lot, even for a science major. Just study hard early semester and find out how much time you need to spend in order to succeed. Maybe you won't need to study 12-14 hrs to do well. I found I needed to study at least 7 hours, though there were many days i studied more than 12hrs to do well in my classes. It varies by major.

    socialize?

Meet jersey tanning salon girls that are useless outside of sex?

    Experiment with drugs?

Meet a girl that might be worth your time?

    Discover your gay tendencies?

Come on. The list could go on.
