    I wouldn't over think this. Just answer honestly so St. Olaf can learn a little more about who you are. Our daughter did not spend much time on these responses.

    You shouldn't over think it, but at the same time, you should not be so blatant or unoriginal. You should be humorous and spontaneous at the same time. -From a fellow prospective student.

    Having watched this process through my own two kids, I can tell you that, like all colleges, they are looking for clues about your personality and interests. These days every good school has plenty of applicants with great grades and test scores. Those are necessary, but not sufficient. They are trying to build a class that will be greater than the sum of its parts. Play to your strengths and don't try to second-guess what they are looking for. They probably couldn't tell you. It's more likely "we know it when we see it."
