Required Housing Exemption

I do realize it is a bit too early for this however I am required to live in the university housing but would rather choose to not live on-campus because I have family in SD area who would gladly take care of me. Is this reason a good enough reason to get a housing exemption? To those of you who applied for an exemption, your advice would be great to have! I have read the website guidelines revolving an exemption and the circumstances include pretty harsh situations.

Will wanting to live with family be a good enough excuse to be exempted?

I may just choose to live on campus. However, any answer is encouraged as someone may need an answer to this question in the near future.
