CR Confusion

Okay, from my practice, grammatix, and people on here...I've read / been told several times to never interpret anything from CR passages, but rather take what is said in it literally. I just finished a CR section and 1 of the questions asked "The passage as a whole most fully answers which question?" As I was going through the choices and eliminating those that weren't stated in the passage..I got stumped on this choice "What route west provides most information about the great plains?" I was unsure about the information part of the choice...because through the passage it never said anything about the scenery providing information, but rather the viewer just appreciating it. Can someone give me some tips on how to answer questions like these.
