SAT II with ACT and no SAT

hanskkhanskk 7 replies4 threads New Member
Is It possible to send ACT plus writing scores along with SAT subject test scores WITHOUT giving in the SAT I score? I scored very less in SAT I but scored very high on ACT and SAT IIs. I don't want the college admissions to know about my SAT I score at all. Thanks for answering in advance.

If you are asking whether it is physically possible the answer is yes with a caveat. College Board allows you to exercise score choice when sending SAT scores and you can choose not to send any particular test, whether SAT or SAT II, when sending test scores. Its default position is to send all scores and thus you must uncheck tests in the order to send to prevent them from being sent. The caveat is that you also need to check what your high school does. Many include all your scores on your official high school transcript that is sent to colleges. Thus, exercising score choice with College Board may effectively accomplish nothing.

If you are asking what do colleges require you to send, many allow you to send whatever tests you want and withhold others. However, there are also many "all scores" colleges that require you to send all scores. However, the actual rules vary among those schools and though some require all SAT and ACT scores, others require either all SAT scores or all ACT scores, and then separately either require all SAT II scores or you can actually choose which IIs to send.

So whether you can withhold that SAT score depends on whether it is permitted by college to which you apply and whether your high school puts it on your transcript.
