Can't Remove Essay from SAT, how long until I find out if I can?

Thank you to whoever responds.

I'm a little stressed, I am taking the SAT this Saturday, but CollegeBoard won't let me remove the Essay. I called, and I was told I have to go to the school the day of and try to see if they can admit me into another classroom that has just the SAT alone.

I do not mean any disrespect to anyone, but do you think they might place higher priority on me above waitlist because I am already registered? I just want to remove the Essay.
Also, after asking, do I find out immediately whether or not they have a spot for me or does it take time?

They can let you know as soon as they've checked everyone in and/or know whether there's space. Not sure who is given priority but I'd assume the waitlists get in first since they would gladly pay to do so (you have already paid and had time to cancel the essay component of your test) and might be presumed to have a more urgent need for a spot. Does it look bad to have a zero on your essay if the schools you are applying to don't consider it?

Yes, it does look bad if you have a 0/24 to colleges, it's quite literally how it appears I believe (saying that for anyone who is interested). However, I did get to take the SAT without the essay, so no problem! Thanks for your help.
