taking the SAT too many times

is it bad to take the SAT too many times? if so, how many times is too many?
I've taken it only twice, so I'm not too worried yet that I've taken it too many times, but I'm just curiuos. call me george.

    Most ppl recommend taking it only 3 times. What i was told was once to mess up, once to do okay, and once to do really well. Taking it more then 3 times does not look that good and to privates it may appear ur just taking it as many times as u can to get hte best composite score.

    I definitely would try to be done with 3 tries max. Do whatever you have to to improve your score before trying it a third time. If you're not hitting your target scores in practice, don't take it til you're ready. A fourth time won't kill you, but they'll start to wonder if you can prioritize and figure out what's really important if you're too focused on the SAT.

    Have you taken the ACT? It sucks far less than the SAT.
