Parent letter of rec?

edited March 2006 in Smith College
a while back, in january actually, my parents recieved this thing from Smith asking for an optional letter of recommendation from them. They wrote it and asked me to edit it (they dont' speak english very well) so I did... but only NOW have gotten around to it. I don't think that not including this letter in my admission file will be detremental at all, because its a little silly and is optional after all (smith's website doesnt even mention anything about it).

Does anyone know when the deadline for these letters is? Will sending it tomorrow be ok?

It is optional, so don't sweat it. But to honor your parents efforts, get it in ASAP. I doubt they make a difference in many cases.

I wrote one and whether it made any difference or not, I'm glad I did. It showed aspects of my D that didn't come out in any other way and her app was the more complete and the better for it.

The invitation said the deadline was to submit the letter of recommendation no later than March 1, so you are golden if you get it in today.
