We stayed at Hampton Inn in Hadley and had a very pleasant experience, as we have on two other occasions when visiting Smith pre-admission.

Country Inn & Suites was our favorite so far. A little drive away from NoHo or Amherst but best value & quality IMHO. Hoilday Inn Express is a close 2nd but always more expensive.

Marriott Courtyard was a disappointment because we could hear so much road noise...Manager said it's the way it was constructed. Stayed in many CY's never had this issue at others (even facing busier roads!)

Hampton Inn was OK but thought it was overpriced. Econo Lodge was value priced but some furniture was stained & dirty Other furnishings were dated but clean (other than the chairs.) Breakfast area is tiny in lobby but we didn't care, took a tray to the room. (Manager was very nice, gave us additional discount.) Said they were re-decorating all the rooms in '13.
We've been inside NoHo hotel several times but never got a room, they always looked too small, odd shaped and parking was "first come, first serve." (Give me a parking space for that price!) maybe they have other options with reserved parking?
Please keep in mind same Corporation owns many of the hotels in area - although the Franchise names and towns may be different. I think they price accordingly.

I want to try the Knight's Inn - just looking for clean and comfortable NO frills place for a quick night's sleep & shower. I'd love your comments if you've stayed there.

The Country Inn and Suites has changed ownership and has been renamed D Hotel and Suites. Hope this helps.

For those who earn Marriott points, there's a new Fairfield Inn under construction on Conz St., but, from the looks of things, you'll probably need to bring a tent if you want to stay there before spring of 2014. Conz St. is very close to the I-91 exit (#18). It's not Northampton's most scenic location, but it's only about a mile from the Smith campus (even less to downtown) and very convenient to the highway (and the bowling alley ;) ).
