They are a waste of money with no real secret knowledge to impart. CC and student doctor network are better.

It is very critical to apply as early as possible. At D's UG, pre-med committee has been very timely and helpful. It is also helpful to prep. for MCAT as good as possible for first take, so no re-takes are needed. Also, D. has contacted some of Med. Schools Adcoms with questions in regard of requirements. Keep in mind to stay flexible in regard to senior schedule as some Med. Schools are changing requirements "on a fly", in D's case, one of her schools has added 2 more classes AFTER she has applied and registered for senior fall semster. She had to change a lot, including dropping one of her minors.

Basically be in good standing with pre-med advisor/committee, they have been instrumental about timely processing and informing my D. of all changes and helpful in re-shoveling her schedule, recommending few Med. Schools....etc. But it is different from UG to UG. Also, do your own research, do not listen to others too much (including us here) as everybody is in slightly different situation. SDN is helpful as long as you can filter out psychotic noise there. Welcome to ask some detailed questions here, but again, make sure to adjust all answers to your specific situation. Best wishes! Staying cool headed about whole process will help.

A good place to start would be the stickied threads in the pre med topics forum here on cc. They are at the top.
