Does anyone know of a cheap program/ free scholarship to study/ volunteer abroad between college years (not a gap year between high school and college)?

Rustic Pathways has something like that with so many locations you could choose from though it is only for volunteer. Request their info for free. it is very informative.

Omprakash.org has about 150 different partners in forty something countries. They offer travel grants (~$3,000) and recently put together an education/training program called EdGE for like $500. A bunch of students from FSU took it and got college credit. All the volunteer programs are provided at cost and are vetted.

I went through the training program and was very satisfied.

    Hope that helps.
