YES!! Just went on-line to check my status again, and noticed a "Decision: Wait List Yes Response "

Does this mean I'm in? Just want to make sure, but if it does, then YES!!

Now I need to decide if I'll even go here, because I have other plans in mind lol :P To everyone else out there waiting on your wait-list decision, just make sure you show interest with a letter/update from teachers, etc., and you'll be off in no time, hopefully!

Good luck to everyone else, and I just hope that "Decision: Wait List Yes Response " actually means I'm in!

Couldn't edit for some reason, so sorry about the second post.

Does anyone even know if this means I'm in? Or does it simply mean I responded to their letter with a "yes" to stay on the wait-list? I still think it might be about that, and not that I'm accepted, so I'm not so excited/happy right now =(

I would like to say it is , but you need to call.
Instead of writing "YES" they should write "Accepted to fall" or something in that ballpark
I think you have a great chance to make it but you need to call them to verify
    good luck1

Yea, I think their office doesn't open until monday though =/

For everyone else who has been wait-listed and put a "yes" down to continue staying on, did your status change to "Decision: Wait List Yes Response " a few days/a week or so after you mailed it in? I'm starting to think this means I responded with a "Yes", but I'm not sure.

Wow, you'd think with all the super-achievers at Binghamton someone could think of a way to communicate unambiguous status results!

Good luck; I hope it means you're in...It does sound like "applicant gave yes response to wait list offer" but who knows?

i got the "Decision: Wait List Yes Response" a few days after i sent in the postcard requesting to stay on their waitling list

i'm not sure what it means, but i think it means we replied with a yes to stay on the waitling list.

that just means that you accepted a spot on the waitlist. otherwise it would say Congratulations you have been accepted into Binghamton University

yeah, i agree with jaeneex and khan1011. i also got the "wait list yes response". i was excited for a few seconds lol. according to binghamton, the admissions let you know if you were accepted to the fall 2008 class on july 13th the friday. friday the 13th... ugh! gluck guys!

for you guys put on the waitlist..post your stats so everyone knows what they are dealing with in order to get off. I have a 95 gpa, top 10%, 1310 SAT...took all AP's this year and some junior year....have no clue why i wasn't accepted...can only figure that applying 6 days before deadline did me in.

amyank - I'm thinking that's the reason exactly. By the time they got to your application, they ran out of spots.

I'm just curious, where are you probably headed then this fall?
  • harleyqharleyq Registered User Posts: 21 New Member
i know people who were wait-listed even with their high stats. its because there were not enough room especially if you applied to the business major area

according to the admissions, there is no ranking wait list so it does not matter if you received a better score than someone else. meaning, you will not have a better chance of being taken off the wait list first. it is random, basically a lotto game. there are approximately/usually 700 students on the wait list and only 70 are actually taken off the wait list and accepted. so everyone has an equal 10% chance of being accepted

well im heading for CUNY Hunter this year...planned on maryland but cant afford it. And the waitlist, while not ranked...is re-read and reviewed by admissions officers...so its not exactly a lotto game...the better resume you provide the greater likelihood of you being chosen. it's the admissions cycle all over again. and when do we hear from binghamton? and another point, writing an interest letter helps...so if it were completely random people wouldnt do that. and 70 spots is prob low..it was 100 a year ago..and my question is..do only 100 get offered...or do like 250 get offered figuring that a great number might deny the offer already beig enrolled in a college?

we hear back from bing on june 13th. i derno i read the stats from bing from i believe last year which said that approximately 700 people are on the wait list and that approximately 70 get accepted. i derno if its any different this year

Just keep on checking the binghamton website for any updates.

    my status changed to

    Application Status: Decision Made
    Decision: Wait List Denied

so i guess they're accepting/rejecting the waitlisters now..
  • amyank489amyank489 Registered User Posts: 129 Junior Member
did you ask to remain on the waitlist tho?...if you hadn't..it could just mean that you denied the waitlist offer.
