Which SUNY schools would be best for me under the conditions that I want something in the scientific, business, sports management, mathematical, or pharmaceutical fields having a 95.7 gpa and a 1760 sat score that could go up when i take the sat's again? Thanks.

Do you want big or small? University center or liberal arts college? Urban or rural? There is so much diversity in the SUNY system....

Stony Brook and Geneseo are known for great science programs, but are vastly different kinds of schools in vastly different environments. And what kind of science? Albany has one of the top nano-science programs in the country. University at Buffalo has a very highly regarded pharmacy program. Cortland has a great sports management program.

I suggest you think a little more about all the criteria that matter to you, and then do a little research on the various schools in the SUNY system -- and then pick a few to visit, if you haven't already....

The problem is I have no idea what I want, which makes it difficult to decide... this is the list of colleges I'm thinking of applying to right now - having trouble narrowing down the choices to around 8.

    Albany C Pharmacy
    Northeastern U
    Rutgers NB/Pscataway
    St John's U (NY)
    SUNY Albany
    SUNY Binghamton
    SUNY Buffalo
    SUNY New Paltz
    SUNY Oswego
    SUNY Stony Brook
    SUNY Brockport
    SUNY Cortland
    SUNY Oneonta
    SUNY Plattsburgh
    Suffolk Co CC
    U Florida

Are all of these school affordable to your family? That's always a good hatchet to swing! Also, if Rutgers and St John's are on the list for their PharmD programs those should probably be moved to the bottom (unless your SAT M+CR scores are well above the 1300 mark). ACP is easier to get into but they're unlikely to give much aid, if that's a consideration.

well, it's a problem, because it seems like you have to be rich if you want to apply to a pharmacy school.. I'm encouraged from my mother to go to suffolk community college because of the financial need, but I feel like it's a bad choice for the gpa I have.
