academic gpa : 3.56 uw (it's low because of math classes, i've gotten strong english grades across the board in honors and ap)
SAT : 1310/1600 (710 cr, 610 m), 1970/2400 (650 wr, 12 essay)
rank : 56/512

i go to a really competitive high school, i've taken honors and ap classes throughout all years of high school

essays : excellent
teacher recommendations : excellent

extracurricular activities :
Debate Team
Literary Magazine
Copy editor for yearbook
Volunteer first aid squad

    I would guess it would be a match but not a safety.

    I would say that you are a reach as Newhouse requires significantly higher stats than other programs at SU. You may want to apply to another SU college and try to transfer to Newhouse after your first year.
