1 Bad Grade Affecting Admission?

So, up until junior year, I have gotten pretty goods (mostly A's), but in junior year, I got one C in first semester in AP Computer Science (really bad choice) but raised it to a B second semester. The rest of my grades were mostly A's and a few B's sprinkled in.

Will this badly affect my admission to selective colleges like the Ivies and top private colleges like University of Chicago, Duke, NYU, etc?

Thank you for answering in advance!

The schools you're targeting will look at you holistically. If you get in, it won't be despite your C/B. If you get rejected it won't be because of your C/B. Don't invest worry and strife into it. Put your best foot fwd and good luck

These things happen and colleges understand. It'll factor into your GPA of course (shouldn't do too much damage, though), but they will probably overlook it as a minor spat. The fact that you raised it second semester is a nice touch. It shows improvement in something you may not be that proficient in.

Thank you very much for all of your responses!
I appreciate it very much.

Would you think it would be wise in the Common App to attach a small paragraph explaining the grade such as APCS was very challenging for me (for some reason) and stuff like that?

^No. Let it go.
