<p>I was wondering if curriculum at most colleges are the same, is it just taught much better at eilte schools. If student A was to take engineering at MIT and B at Umass will they learn the same things but just in different enviroments and settings, and how would the difficulty be compared?</p>
<p>No easy answer to this in general terms. Regarding your example, I think you’ll get a much more theoretical education at MIT versus a more practical education at UMass, even though the classes are probably similarly defined. Don’t get me wrong, the level of education at UMass is certainly adequate for a college education. Depending on the quality of the student body (which is obviously a hard thing to quantify), the more higher regarded schools will teach a similar class at a different level of abstraction than those at the lesser regarded schools because the overall student body is more capable of understanding/absorbing information at a different level/pace. Does that make any sense?</p>
<p>honestly I am looking at biomedical engineering at umass compared to Wpi and i want to also go to medical school, so i would need a high gpa, i think umass would be easier to get that at and the only differece in what im taking in is the way it is taught. would you say its the same curriculum at both schools and where would i have the best chance for success</p>
