<p>Look for schools where your SAT cr+m or total SAT is about equal to the median/average SAT of accepted students. These schools are matches, and generally you’d have a decent chance of being accepted. If your SAT scores are well below the median/average, the school is most likely a reach, and you won’t have a good chance of acceptance. It your SAT score is well above the median/average, then the school is a safety, and you’re likely to be accepted.</p>

<p>The SAT scores for most schools are usually easy to find. Most are listed on the College Board site. They’re also listed in those catalogs of colleges you can pick up at book stores. Also, most college websites list the average SAT scores of accepted applicants. In all three places, frequently the scores that are displayed are in the 25th/75th percentile format, that is, the middle 50% range of SAT scores. For example, the middle 50% of cr+m SAT scores at Villanova last year was 1290 to 1410.</p>

<p>Finally, in answer to your intial question about applying to Villanova and Notre Dame, it is highly unlikely you will be accepted at either school either EA or regular admission. You saw the Villanova SAT scores above. The Notre Dame scores are 1280 to 1470. On the other hand, there are tons of schools where you would be accepted. Do some research. You’ll find them.</p>

<p>idk about Villanova… but with meetings w/ Notre Dame they tell people basically to not bother applying early unless you have a 1470 SAT at least (math and reading)</p>
