You watch Twin Peaks, and that’s pretty awesome.

Gregory may be a hovel, but it’s a hovel run by someone who likes good TV shows.

PS Give Meng A’s

At least an A-

house deans give out grades?

in soviet russia grades give you house deans

Gregory is a soviet gulag

So without being sarcastic or saying you don’t want to live there, what’s up with Gregory? From the housing brocure it looks nice, and has some programs my D is interested in.

don’t pay attention to them. they just like to joke around. i doubt gregory is as bad as he says it is. its just sth personal with. i am also interested in gregory for the MLP but i put harnwell as my first choice.

gregory: all of the squalor of hill without any of the annoying social life

p.s. The high rise formerly known as Hamilton is actually probably the nicest of the three, as all three are in varying stages of renovation (I think Harrison is having a lot done this summer though). There’s not really a substantial difference between the three though.

p.p.s High Rises- not the greatest place for freshman socially

p.p.p.s. Upside- you build up enough priority to have a good shot at one of the coveted single bedroom apartments by the time your an upper classman though, even possibly by junior year

^^^ exactly why i chose it. too much play=not so good and my parents are extremely conservative. harnwell is getting renovated this summer and the highrises have the nicest rooms even though the social scene isn’t as great as hill or the quad.

I’m not 100% sure, but I’m reasonably certain that it is Harrison, not Harnwell that is being renovated over this summer; Harnwell was renovated extensively either last summer or the summer before, and I think the plan was to work on one high rise per summer.

There is a line though between having too much play and not enough, and just from experience with freshman friends (I lived in Hill my freshman year and hated it, and am far from an avid partier) living in the high rises can make meeting people and developing a social network very difficult. I lived in Harrison my sophomore year, and probably only new a dozen people on my floor, and that was more than most did.

on pennspace they told us that harnwell was getting renovated this summer. it will be the only highrise with a lounge on every floor after this summer’s renovation.
college for my asian parents is not about getting a good social experience but rather a good education. my first choice before the previews was hill and then ware. my dad thought the quad was dingy inside and smelled weird and i hated hill myself. he prefered the highrises so i went with them as my first choice. its a matter of personal opinion.

It doesn’t seem like a matter of personal opinion, but rather, a matter of your parent’s.

One day you’ll look back, and realize that letting your parents decide your college experience will ruin it.

^^^ you are right, i guess but next year I will get dibs on the dorms. don’t most people move into the highrises after their freshmen year.
i am the good girl so i listen to my parents.
