Six months ago, this would’ve been by “dream” (not target however) university/college. However, I ditched the concept of “dream” and “target” colleges (now it’s a lottery). Now I am burned out by previous applications to other colleges, overloaded with winter break homeworks, and induced with the good ol’ Christmas stress/panic.

I how have 8 days left to write 3 short essays and 2 long essays; I know it’s possible for me to complete them with great polish, but do I want to? At the moment, I’m thinking of writing something different than my previous applications, as in a manner where the question of “How will the admission officers read this?” is absent. Certainly a refreshing break and gasp leisure from college applications. To make this even sweeter, Caltech requires me to add in some type of visual to their application…the possibilities are endless.

So, the question is should I also push myself a bit further and write with the same treatment as other applications, or should I try to experiment with this last application a bit? The essays won’t be unconventional or questionably liberal nor will it be poorly written, just that I’ll have a bit of “fun” by ignoring some factors that influenced how and what I wrote in my previous applications.
