kp2001: stick to opthomology- lets you do a little medicine, a little surgury, and all at pre-scheduled office hours! Hard to get a fellowship, but you never know! Actually allows for a family life!

Ortho: fun if you like carpentry work, but the hours are miserable. Remember, the bulk of traumas happen off-peak hours, and most of them need ortho intervention. So until you start replacing hips and knees, the hours can be tough.

Neuro surg: the malpractice is outrageous, second only to OB. Back surgery-carries a high infection rate, therefore high malpractice rate too. Very, very challenging work- and very teadious surgery- talk about long hours on your feet/fanny- and definately, no caffine for those hands!

plastics- if you are really skilled, but cosmetics seem so shallow…now do reconstructive work and you win my heart over!

now dermatology- there’s the moneymaker!!
Offer laser and all the latest gagets, treat acne, straighten wrinkles and make it into a day spa run by massage therapists, nutritionists and NP’s- while you sit back and drive your bentley- the one thing for sure is that there will always be enough wrinkles and acne around for everyone!

ah, choices!
