Asking Ill Teacher for Rec

<p>I asked a science teacher from last year for a rec some time ago, and he hasn’t replied. Turns out, he has some sort of infection, is on antibiotics, and can’t come to school for a few months. </p>

<p>I have to have a science teacher write one for me, and I scored a 5 on the AP Exam and made really good grades in the class, and he knows me really well, unlike my other science teachers (I doubt that they can even recognize me). And it was the only science class I took my junior year, so I can’t ask another.</p>

<p>What should I do? And what should I write if I’m emailing him?</p>

<p>Maybe you should express sympathy/empathy for his condition, and say that normally you’d ask him for a recommendation, but in the circumstances, who would he recommend that you ask?</p>

<p>Email him- be understanding but if you really feel you need his rec it’s worth it for your future</p>
