Cell Phones

What kind of cell phone are you going to have/already have at USC?

Basically I have no idea what to get. My father and I were discussing getting a Smartphone (the Palm Treo). At the same time those are a bit bulky, and plus I might not really need something with that many features. It might be nice, though, to have some of the features that something like this has that a regular cell phone doesn't have.

Any suggestions about what would be most useful during college?
Thanks! =)

Regular cellphones are the most common on campus. The Motorola RAZR is especially popular.

As for smartphones, I've seen mostly T-Mobile Sidekicks followed by Treos and a handful of Blackberries. Keep in mind that you will have to pay extra each month for data service if you want to enjoy the full functionality of the phone.

It also depends what you plan on using the phone for. If you’re already bringing a laptop, remember that campus Wi-Fi coverage can still get you e-mail and internet on the go. However, some people just like having phone/e-mail/internet/camera/calendar/etc. at their fingertips.

practically any cell phone will do.

the only reason why you might want to target one with at least a camera phone is if you happen to run into filming on the way to class and want to snap a few pictures or something...
