Hey! I'm a junior living in Florida and I really want to go to FSU, so I was wondering if you guys could chance me!

UW GPA: 3.36
W GPA: 3.93

I have taken all of my core classes as honors, and have taken AP World, AP Psych, and AP Lang. On AP World, I got a 2. I think on AP Psych I got a 3 or 4, and AP Lang a 4 or 5.

ACT: 28
SAT: 1190/1920 (that's with a 530 on math, I'm retook last Saturday)

I've been in Key Club through high school (VP soph & junior years and secretary next year)
Juniorettes soph, junior, & next year (going to run for an office position)
Italian Club through high school
Fellowship of Christian Athletes this year & next year
NHS next year

I have 75 recorded community service hours (25 with YMCA, 50 with Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) and other hours with Key Club and Juniorettes that I never recorded...

AND (I think this is what will really help me since my GPA is kinda low) I was chosen to be a Delegate from my state to go to Washington DC and speak on Capitol Hill about funding & finding a cure for type 1 might be on CSPAN!

This is the University of Florida forum, unless you made an error in your post your asking at the wrong school

Ignore the FSU part please, I copied & pasted this from my chances topic in the FSU forum…
and ignore the “I’m retook,” when I posted it in FSU it was “I’m retaking” and I forgot to chance the I’m, lol.

Umm I’d say besides the last thing, you dont look that good on paper. Your gpa is kind of low. A lot of people that apply have a 4.0+ gpa. You need to raise act/sat. I think fsu will accept you though. The last thing may carry you at uf but me personally i dont like to sit on the fence, i like to be a sure thing.

You have an interesting hook considering what you mentioned last about being a delegate, however your SAT score and GPA are low compared to UF standards.

I suggest you improve [at least] your GPA beyond a 4.0 weighted, continue doing community service, and work REALLY hard senior year. Don’t slack off senior year and take a lot of AP courses with some honors. With that, your chances of getting into UF are higher.
