<p>Here’s my list (roughly in order of preference/selectivity):
Reaches: Brown, Swarthmore, Yale
Matches: Carleton, Tufts, Emory
Safeties: Macalester, University of Florida</p>

<p>Brown is my top pick, although I like each of them for different reasons, and could be happy anywhere. I’m just hoping for some input other than my dad’s. :-)</p>

<p>So, I think I have a good chance of getting into most of the schools. I’m mainly wondering about Brown and Swarthmore. I’m applying to Yale to humor my dad, although I do like it myself… just not as much as Brown and Swat.</p>

<p>I’m considering a Neuroscience major, (or possibly Psychology), so I almost want to shy away from a small liberal arts college so I can have opportunities in that arena, however I’m still attracted to the idea of a small LAC.</p>

<p>Also, I’m a white female with Tourette’s Syndrome, (which has prompted my interest in neuroscience), and I’m wondering how that might affect my chances at these schools. I’ve heard they need a certain number of ‘students with disabilities’ enrolled each year. Is this true? Also a possible essay topic, yes? </p>

<p>i’m not an expert or anything, but from your stats, i think you stand a fighting chance at every one of the schools you’re applying to, especially at brown and swarthmore (although yale is bit more of a reach, as it is for everyone.)</p>

<p>and i don’t know about the tourette’s syndrome thing, although it sounds like you could very well write about that in conjunction with your interest in neuroscience if the college asks for an academic interest essay. </p>

<p>anywho, thats just my two cents. i wish you luck!</p>

<p>If you’re a perpsective neuroscience major, Carleton’s probably not the school for you. Although you can create your own “special major” through petition, neuroscience is not an official major and Carleton lacks a substantial number of classes directly relativing to neuroscience. I’m a current Carl myself who’s thinking of transferring for these very reasons. Anyway, I think you have a GREAT shot at getting in to Carleton. Hope this helps!</p>

<p>Check out Dartmouth, great neuroscience and psychology with the intimacy of a LAC. Also maybe Duke. If you dont get into Brown or Swat it puts another top school in the running.</p>

<p>Thanks for you advice. I actually visited Dartmouth and liked it a lot for awhile. Ultimately, I decided I wasn’t too fond of the D-Plan and the location (although… how is Minnestoa better, right?)</p>

<p>haha, yeah. The D-plan is sort of an asset in a way though as it creates sophomore summer (most fun time ever) and a chance to do a couple study abroads. Also, it is great for internships. also maybe check out Vassar for a match, its a great LAC similar to Brown</p>
