<p>Okay hispanic male transferring after first semester at Embry freakin Riddle Aeronautical University. Applied to MIT last year and was waitlisted, but nobody got off the list, so… ended up at ERAU. (Should have applied to more than two schools eh?)</p>

College GPA first semester 3.72 (I dun did it again!)</p>

<p>I’m trying to get out of here because:
a) the school is crap and very ridiculous in certain aspects and $$$
b) want to go to a school with a physics program</p>
<p>If anyone can recommend a school in the northeast that fits please do.</p>
<p>stevens institute of tech if money is a factor- 10 min from nyc… you could def get a major scholarship…great physics program… people are cool and easy going
more prestigious i think you have most of them… but dartmouth and yale might be of interest to you- but as most of your schools are urban i dont think they would be… so def try for upenns engineering program… really rigorous and intense… great physics and math dep as well… dont know what you want in terms of social scene… but there obviously lots of stuff to do around there… peeople a re pretty layed back…</p>
<p>Unless you are sold on Columbia, you might want to replace that with Cornell since it has the most well respected undergrad engineering and physiscs, also you will have a much stronger chance there if you don’t get into MIT or Harvard. If you are looking for NYC and money is an issue, what about Cooper Union? I would also apply to Michigan.</p>
<p>Cornell is top Ivy Undergraduate Engineering, ranked by USNEWS. I believe Columbia is behind in the science, and that is part of the appeal for them to undergo the Manhatanville Expansion - research space. Carnegie Mellon might also be a good math, rated among top 10 in engineering undergrad.</p>
<p>MIT: Once again MIT accepted 6 ppl out of 300 last year so chances rarely could be disussed further than 2%. However, given the B in calc I’d say 0.2%
Harvard: Engineering and Harvard? Why? For Physics yes.
Columbia: Why not. FuFu is not as selective as the college and no it is not that great.
I don’t believe that ethnicity matters for transfer since few people are accepted and this does not really disturb the established ratios.</p>
