Chances at Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, Princeton, Yale, UPENN, vassar, boise state

Hi guys, I'm a senior this year and I've finished applying to all the schools listed above. i just wanted to get an idea how good my chances are of acceptance, if you could provide percentage chances for some or all of the schools that would be helpful.

Chances at Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, Princeton, Yale, UPENN, vassar, boise state

GPA: Huge rising trend
9: 2.1 (no honors)
10: 2.8 (1 honors; 1 ap)
11: 2.9 (2 honors)
12: 3.1 (1 honors; 1 ap)

SAT: Math: 550; Reading: 570; Writing: 420 (I was sick on testday)

ACT: 25

Ethnicity: Male; native american (my tribe affiliation is navajo)

Tribal Chief Leader youth convention organizer (10-12)
Alto singer for tribal choir (we sing a variety of folk songs, I think I can incorporate this into my essays somehow) (9-12)
Gold Medal buffalo championship (11)
Mr. Navajo weight lifting champion (12)

Speak 4 languages fluently

Please be honest, I really want to know my chances at these schools. Thanks for your advice guys!!!

i think your stats are not high enough for any of the colleges
it's a reach. but your ethnicity may get you into anywhere you want to go. life's unfair, i know. how good would have yoru sat score been if you were not sick on the test day. but i really like your ECs. can you please elaborate on Gold Medal Buffalo Championship?
i wouldn't be surpised if harvard accepts you. good luck!

lol i would be so annoyed if you got in with these offense

As would I. I really cannot envision you making HYPS, UPenn, and Oxford with your collection of below-average stats. Native Americans may comprise a very under-represented minority, but there are obviously still many Native American students who can offer something great in the eyes of the most competitive of colleges. I'm sorry to say that, at least numbers-wise, you are not one of them.

lol theres so much wrong with your app its notn funny...gpa huge rising trend? one point is not huge rising trend...secondly you say you were sick on sat testsday...but your act is almost the same when compared...idn about american universities but OXFORD....OXFORD...COMEONE!...if i didnt know better id say you were a troll

sorry you don't have a chance.

OP is already accepted at Stanford for SCEA. He posted something similar at another forum. Check out his other posts.

haha why do people do stuff like that?

"Male; native american (my tribe affiliation is navajo)"

^, That my friend, will get you into any college of your dream, except Oxford--who wouldn't give a flying hoo-ha.

lol trolling, I see :-)

Congrats on Stanford early, though!!!

A champion lifter while also a choir singer...

Your essay can be about how you rigged the slot machines, and made some extra money inside your dad's Indian casino.

Stop trolling. (It's not very funny when you do it multiple times ...)

bump for chances. My friend also uses this account btw, hence some of the other posts. I'm not trolling, I just want to get some honest opinions about my chances of admission at the aforementioned schools.

Oh really?

<a href="">;/a>
<a href="">;/a>
<a href="">;/a>
<a href="">;/a>
<a href="">;/a>
<a href="">;/a>
<a href="">;/a></p>

It saddens me that Stanford admits people like you.

this is sad, i wish i was a native american

You're a senior in high school again? Wow, I wish I could do that.

You people are so quick to rush to judgment. Care to think that maybe the account is shared among many people? Native American Reservations are some of the poorest areas of our country, they probably dont have the resources for more than one computer! The OP seems like a responsible young man, and I dont know what sick pleasure a person would recieve from posting something like that in jest. Hopefully the admissions officers at those universites arent as prejudiced as the frequent visitors to College Confidential. sigh

That being said, I agree with stanman. Could you please elaborate on the gold medal buffalo championship, vissanik? I think you have a good chances at those schools, you offer a very valuable, unique perspective that overshadows your (small) deficiencies in academics. I know that If I was in admissions, I would give you my seal of approval. Colleges these days are too grade-based, a student like you could teach his peers more than a single book ever could.

Good Luck!

lol bewner sorry but that miniscule "1" next to your username gives you little credibility on these forums

I always thought that Native Americans could go to almost any school in the U.S, as long as they're not like.. felons. I would say you ahve a chance (better than my asian self) at any of these schools.

Forgive me for being a concerned citizen, beefs. My statements stand alone, regardless of whether I have "credibility" or not. (Like credibility is something that should be earned, or honored, on a college admissions message board. So I have to post 365 times to express my opinion?) The fact that you are so quick to jump on the back of a genuine poster is sickening, and the fact that after I try to defend the young man, you jump on my back, too, is just adding **** to the pile.
You people who attacked vissanik are just jealous, that he has the (good) chance of going to a prestigious university. You think that he doesnt deserve it, because of his less than stellar grades. But who are you to judge? Native Americans face hardships that you dont even know exist, and should he not be rewarded for his lifetime of oppression? The very reason he should be accepted to these schools is so that he can alert his peers to the injustices he, and other minorities in the country, face everyday. Add on the obvious historical aspects that Native Americans have played in our country's controversial past, and you have a very convincing argument for any admissions officer.
So, beefs, I apologize if this seems excessive, but it is stuck up people like you who make life so hard for the oppressed, vissanik being a chief example (no pun intended).
Does trust no longer exist in our country? Is it such a leap of faith to believe that an account can have two people use it? I suppose so, since at the first sign of question, people immediately judge.

Nevertheless, GOOD LUCK VISSANIK. Disregard the statements of these people. Luckily they are not the ones deciding your fate.
