chances at USAFA

Ok folks I wouldn’t do this unless I really was worried about my chances. I work at the YMCA as a lifeguard for the last 6 months. I have a 4.183 GPA which is liable to change when I get my exam results back but anyway.

My ACT score were:
Composite: 28
English:31
Reading:32
Writing:28
Math:26
Science:24
I plan on retaking the ACT because I am not too pleased with my math and science scores.

On my PSAT I got in the 96th percentile.
Thses are the percentiles I have for the test
Critical Reading:99th percentile score was a 76/80
Math :87th percentile score was a 63/80
Writing Skills:85th percentile and my score was a 62/80

Finally I am amember of National Honor Society nd am on the Varisty Swimming and Golf teams currently and have been on the cheerleading team during my freshmen year. I am ranked 15th out of 454 students. But I want to repeat again that rankings and GPA’s are liable to change once I get my semester grades. Not by much hopefully but they will some what. Mostly just the rankings and hopefully I will go up. Oh yes and I am taking all college prep classes 1 AP class and two Honors classes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A few questions: What grade are you in? Any leadership positions? Community service?

Yes you definitely need to get your math scores up. Way up. Also, you need to take more advanced classes. Only 1 AP class isn’t going to cut it.

Leadership is REALLY important so if you want to make up for low scores, this is where you do it. Try to run for officer in NHS or some other club. Be captain of a sports team.

Overall, you need to get your math scores up, and take some more advanced classes. Maker sure you get involved in your school and community, and be a leader because right now you need more!
