LEARN TO READ KID.

USF: Match
UCD: Slight Reach/Match
UCI: Slight Reach
UCSD: Insane Reach
UCB: Forget it honestly.

GPA is way too low to consider the high end UCs.

christ, what a dick.

im a CA resident in sacramento area

You should also look into Santa Clara University, Saint Mary’s College, Seattle University, Gonzaga, and Loyola Marymount, in case you haven’t already. I think you’d have an excellent chance at any of those.

As for your list, I completely agree with Strykur’s advice. If your GPA was higher you would have a better shot at the UC’s, especially the top UC’s, like Berkeley for example.

I’m also applying to USF, by the way. Maybe I’ll see you there.

BIGTWIX:

UCB: Reach
UCSD: Slight Reach
UCI/UCD: Match

Without knowing your class rank (Okay, he could go to one of the hardest schools in the Country where 3/5 is top 3%!) we cqn’t say for sure. But if you go to less that an amazingly hard HS, the top end schools on your list are unrealistic.

actually
funny thing
umm
i actually posted this pretending i was my brother (he’s applyin for colleges right now)
I was just to lazy to write that i was writing this for my brother.

anyway
he’s applying to saint mary’s
and loyola marymount.

as for me (im a junior)
next year
im gonna be applyin to USF
Fordham
NYU (i doubt ill get in though)
Boston University
Northeastern UNiversity
University Colarado Boulder
Penn State-UP
and a few more
if i got my grades up
it’d be cool to go to pepperdine, but doubted…
plus
im a city person
so ide rather go to usf
for me…its mostly between fordham, BU,and USF
but yeah
im a freakin language addict(with the exception of english)
so i wanna take
japanese
spanish
italian
(and i know usf offers all that…and my grandparents live like 20 minutes from campus and my family lives like 2 hrs ish)
and i might even take more languages…
and psychology is cool too
and im writing too much for a post so im gonna stop :)

i just looked and my school is ranked 772 out of the 1000 best highschools in america (which includes private and public)

And this last year
We sent
2-yale
1-princeton
4-stanford
5-Berkeley
1-harvard
11-ucsd
2-williams
3-nyu
3-usc
2-columbia
1-cornell
1-duke

and more
but those are like the best ones
and
it was the best senior graduating class our school has ever had…
but
thats still pretty dang good if u ask me
yeah
there were more schools that the students went to
but those were like the best ones.
and those are out of a class of i think 521

oh
and for rank
i said it on the first post of mine
183/502

and i just found this on wikipedia…
these are the schools that last years senior class of 06 went too
* University of Southern California
* Harvard
* Princeton
* Swarthmore
* Wellesley
* Stanford
* University of California: Berkeley
* University of California: Los Angeles
* University of Chicago
* Georgetown University
* Duke
* Yale
* Massachussets Institute of Technology
* University of Pennsylvania
* Cornell University
* United States Air Force Academy
* Northwestern University
* Washington University in St. Louis
* Brown University

* New York University
* Amherst
* University of California: San Diego

oh…and i guess i was wrong…not williams college.guess it was william and mary…
and
yeah
those above are just the most notable ones

UC Berkeley: Large Reach
UCSD: Reach
UCI/UCD: Match-Slight Reach
USF: Safe Match
Wheaton College (illinois): Safety
Chapman University: Big Safety
NYU: Reach
Pepperdine University: Match
Boston College: Reach
Boston University: Slight Reach
Cornell: Large Reach
Dartmouth: Large Reach
Duke: Large Reach
Notre Dame: Reach

really
u think wheatons a safety
teir average gpa is like 3.7
and their sats are definately better than pepperdines

I wouldn’t exaclty call Wheaton a safety.
I would say Wheaton is a match and he has a great chance of being admitted.

This is there GPA breakdown for last year’s class:

58% had h.s. GPA of 3.75 and higher
23% had h.s. GPA between 3.5 and 3.74
13% had h.s. GPA between 3.25 and 3.49
5% had h.s. GPA between 3.0 and 3.24
1% had h.s. GPA between 2.5 and 2.99

And his SAT’s are right in Wheaton’s league:

SAT Reasoning Verbal: 630 - 730
SAT Reasoning Math: 620 - 710

UCI and UCD don’t seem like reaches.

The SAT score is good.

What’s your weighted GPA… cuz the average for those two are about 3.8-3.9.

Yeah Daniel
i thought that guy wsa wrong…
there was no way wheaton was a safety.

and
Weighted is 3.6
and
Yeah
being a california resident should mean somethin right
