Colleges for beyond the top quartile?

<p>How will the Counselor SSR ranking affect my app to these colleges?</p>

<p>I’m not going to be ranked in the top decile, quintile, or quartile in the Common App SSR. Which schools should I drop if I make only the second quartile at a highly competitive public school? The school does not rank, does not weight GPA.</p>

<p>It depends on other factors. Admittedly, that will hurt, but if you have any combination of excellent, outstanding, superb test scores, EC’s, recs, etc., you might still be able to make the cut. I wouldn’t count on it, though.</p>
