Columbia Univ., UPenn, U of M, U Chicago Chances. I'll chance you back.

@Homeless2Harvard‌ , rather, I think you are the one that doesn’t know what you’re talking about…

“Great scores, good GPA, amazing ec’s ONLY if you’re applying for business, you have a good shot…”

Great scores: 34 ACT, this is average for Columbia/UPenn/uChicago, won’t help you
Good GPA: 3.97, good, but then again, with all the grade inflation, 4.00 GPA doesn’t even mean much anymore (unless the college recognizes your school and its difficulty)

Amazing ECs: Frankly, none of your ECs stand out to me.
“Won a stock challenge.” Okay, if this were worth mentioning, you’d drop the name of it.
“- Made states for a business competition, competing again this year” What, FBLA or something? Anybody could do that.
“- Made nationals for Euro Challenge (another business comp.)” Don’t know anything about this competition, but it seems very small scale -> not prestigious.
“- Interned at a New York Firm over the summer” Too many high schoolers have internships/research that it is not even unique anymore, how, if any, did this program benefit you as a student
"- Managed a lot of the sales for my father’s company and helped around with other operations

  • Idk if this helps but I invest in stocks through my father’s portfolio
  • I help with sales in my mother’s company as well" I could claim all three of these as well, and they have little - no impact on any admissions decision

Not to mention you are an Asian male and from Michigan, so you’re not getting any bonus points there.

Harsh, but it’s the reality. I would not be surprised in the least if you went 0/3 on those colleges. Your chances are not 0, but they are not good either (as everybody that puts Wharton as a “(High) Match” seems to imply). Either way, you’ll find our in several months so go do something else and don’t think about it.
