<p>I just have kind of a random question that I’m curious about. I recently received a letter from Wash. U. saying I’d been accepted into their School of Architecture. Thing is, I hadn’t applied early decision, I just submitted my Regular Decision application around the end of December. I hadn’t even sent in my portfolio yet (it’s not required but it’s sort of expected of architecture applicants). I have good stats but not stellar (2290, 35, 4.2). Anyway, I’m pretty excited about it, and I’m just curious as to how often this occurs at somewhat selective schools like WashU. My sister was accepted the same way at Grinnell, so I guess maybe it’s pretty common, I just never hear anyone talk about it. Has this happenned to anyone else?</p>
<p>Also, a completely unrelated question, how prestigious is being nominated for the Presidential Scholar Award? I just got a letter about it today and I thought about applying for it but the app is like 4 zillion pages long and you don’t get any scholarship or anything so…meh. Anyway, I was going to update my application with couple extra slides to some of my more selective schools (HYPS, etc) and I was just wondering if I should include this, even though I’m only nominated and not actually a finalist.</p>
