Do colleges ever want your final grades at the end of your senior year? Or do they pretty much stop caring after the mid-year report?

No they definatly want final year reports esp. the most selective college to confirm if you graduated and that you didn’t catch senioritis

Your admission to any college is contigent upon your successfully completing high school. Your final transcript confirms that you did graduate.

A major case of senioritis can be cause for the school to rescind your admission because there is an expectaiton that you maintain the pretty much the same standards you presented them with for admissions. IF you are admitted to an honors program or have merit money a major slide can cause you to lose it if you no longer meet the conditions.
