<p>have any of u given the cost of attending a serious thought? I heard Columbia isn't that liberal in handing out aid, and for people planning on professional or graduate school later on....is it worth the cost?</p>

<p>Columbia costs about the same as any other top private school. Just like most other top private schools, Columbia claims to match 100% of your need. (They all define "need" differently.) Your issues aren't particular to Columbia.</p>
<p>The fact that you want to attend grad school isn't factored into the aid calculation. Why should it?</p>
<p>Is it worth the cost? If you go to another private school, you'll pay the same. Compared to a free ride at a decent state school, it might be a tough call.</p>
