Graduate School: SciencesPo, Cambridge, University of St Andrews

Hi guys,

There is a full scholarship available in my country to go the schools listed above, but I have to gain admission into the university first. I am interested in pursing Masters in Development Practice as I am from a developing country and would like to work in areas of education and poverty. I know the universities mentioned are among the best universities in the world, so I am not sure if I stand a chance. I will give you a brief background of my studies and hope you guys can chance me!

I studied at the best university in my country, but I am not sure if it means much internationally. Graduated the top of my class in 2013 with a GPA of 3.86.

Went on an exchange program in the US during my third year. The program is fully funded by the US Department of States. I did well at school and got a GPA of 3.89 during my one-year stay there.

Went to several short-programs on Global Studies and Leadership in Japan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. All are fully-funded. One was a conference that brought together alumni of US Exchange Program who demonstrated leadership and commitment to public service upon their returns from the US.

I volunteered extensively during my years in college and currently belong in two leading youth organizations in my country. I have lead a youth capacity-building project and also participated in many other youth-related projects.

I have worked and interned in various local/international organizations in my country that deals with civic engagement and arts. I also used to be a freelance reporter for a well-known newspaper in my country.

Currently, I work in the private sector (public relations agency) because I want to experience a more competitive and fast-paced environment.

TOEFL Score: 113/120. GRE is not required in any of the program.

These are some of the highlights of my academic and professional background. So, do I stand a chance?
