Is it easier to transfer to Cornell as an Art History major than a Poli Sci major? Does major matters importantly in transfer admission process?

You should try to determine the number of people in each major. If a major is lacking in people and you have a strength in that area, definitely apply for it. If however the major is poli sci…then, yeah…you better be really strong =)

Its not easier to transfer as an art major. Lets say you’re a polisci major who took polisci classes and applied as Art History, the admissions committee will see that and their decision will not be favorable to you because you need to finish some requirements for the major.

Well, I like both subjects, so I was thinking maybe I could change my major to art history from poli sci, if that gives me a better shot to transfer to Cornell or others.

Check the department and see if they’re low on students. Contact the department personally. It helps.
