How do PG year transcripts factor into admissions?

I’ve been considering doing a PG year for the past few months, but I’m not sure how exactly the admissions office would weight the transcript.

For example, if I hypothetically had a year of straight A’s during this postgraduate year, would they consider me to be the valedictorian,
even though I am currently ranked in the 38th percentile of my four-high year school?

It seems as if many top-tier universities enjoy being able to report that “76% of their students were ranked in the top 10% of their high school,” and I’m curious if one year of straight A’s could put me in that pool.

bumpppppp.

In the literal interpretation of your gpa, not a ton, but if you do a lot there they can help a lot.
