<p>Everything depends on the institution. You really do need to pick up the phone and call the place(s) you are interested in.</p>
<p>If you are considering transferring from a community college, find out about the articulation agreements (guaranteed transfer) between that place and any 4-year institutions. If you complete the coursework at the community college with the GPA required by the agreement you will be admitted directly into the third year at the participating college/university. You also need to find out if there are any blanket guarantees for admission for community college graduates at any of the public universities in your state. For example, Towson U guarantees admission for any graduate of a Maryland community college provided a) that the student has not taken any coursework at another 4-year institution after completing the AA, and b) there is space at Towson.</p>
